We are an all volunteer foster based rescue. If you need help to rehome a cat we rarely are able to take it in but if you will continue to keep the cat or find a reliable foster we can help you find a safe, good new home. This is called Community Fostering.
People ask how long it takes to find a new home and there is no set answer. It depends on many factors, mostly cat personality and appearance. Good photos are a must, narratives that describe their personality in an entertaining way, short videos for posting on social media...
Thank you for taking the time to complete the form. We would appreciate it if you answer every question. Please give as much detail as possible, providing phone numbers and appropriate contact persons where requested.
All cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, tested for FELV/FIV, dewormed and flea free before they can be adopted. This is something you will have to do with the support of our group. We provide the microchipping, vaccines, deworming and flea protection at no cost to you. You will cover the other vetting (at a discounted rate from our vets) and will be reembursed up to $100 at time of adoption if you cannot afford to donate these vet procedures.
We have a Community Foster Coordinator and additional individuals to support you in your efforts so you are not alone. As a Community Foster you also have direct input into the permanent placement of the kitties which is also very rewarding.
You should hear from our Community Foster Coordinator or another Volunteer with Southern Counties Rescue within 2 days.
