Sponsored by the Specialty Equipment Market Association and the North American Council of Automotive Teachers, this annual award provides complimentary travel (hotel/air) to allow three instructors (the finalists) to attend the SEMA Show, and funding for one of those instructors (the award winner) to attend the following year’s NACAT Conference and Expo (complimentary registration and $500 for travel).
For this award, the use of aftermarket products in the classroom, the development of aftermarket curriculum, instructional standards and tracking of student progress, the student involvement in the community, and the passions that the students bring to the program are judged. These criteria should be captured in a short video (2-5 minutes) and submitted with this application.
Nomination deadline is August 15, 2019. Announcement of the award finalists will be made by September 1, 2019. Finalists will be invited to attend the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV; the award will be presented at the SEMA Show Education Partners’ Breakfast on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. The award winner will be invited to attend the 2020 NACAT Conference and Expo held in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Monday, July 20, 2020 through Thursday, July 23, 2020.
The award is open to ANY automotive/diesel/collision instructor who works at a public or private school or training center in the US or Canada. Awards do not take into account any references to age, sex, religion, race, national origin, disability, or ethnic background.
