Why Do I Need a Complimentary Background Check?
Any volunteer who plans to engage with MNPS students in an unsupervised capacity must complete a background check. This includes mentoring, tutoring, lunch buddies, chaperoning, and other volunteer programs.
PENCIL’s background check program is free of charge to applicants and is typically returned within 5–10 business days.
Please closely follow the instructions on throughout the application to ensure your background check is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Upon completion of your registration through this form, you will receive an email directing you to our third party provider to complete your background check.
Your school of choice will automatically be notified of your successful completion of the process, and you will receive an additional notification of your clearance from PENCIL's staff.
