Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria

All applicants will have equal opportunity to submit applications for symposium sponsorship, with the exception that those topics previously addressed within the past three years will be given a lower priority. Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the majority of the meeting attendees (i.e., appropriate for multiple disciplines)
  • Appropriateness to meeting’s theme
  • Relevance to care of veteran patient population
  • Presentations related to other aspects of patient care beyond specific drug therapy are preferred
  • History of prior AVAHO presentations
  • NOTE: AVAHO will reserve a minimum of one symposia for new/emerging industries, or those new to partnering with AVAHO
  • Timeliness of application submission

Additional Information

  • All applications are due to Julie Lawson by May 14, 2021 
    If you have logistical or technical questions, please contact Julie Lawson juliehlawson@gmail.com) prior to submission. No advice will be provided on the proposed topic or likelihood of sponsorship. 
  • All applications will be evaluated by the AVAHO Education Committee.
  • Applicants will be notified of the Board’s decision by June 14, 2021.
  • Proposed speakers must be approved/selected by AVAHO.
  • All slides must be submitted for review and approved by AVAHO Education Committee by July 14, 2021.
  • Symposium sponsor agrees to adhere to all AVAHO restrictions and regulations in the conduct of this symposium. Contact the Executive Director (Julie Lawson) with any questions re: adherence.
