A proposed dog park was included in the 2019 Parks and Recreation Master Plan, with a recommendation that the design & bid process begin in year 2020/2021, with the construction phase beginning in 2021/2022. However the project was not referenced in the 2019/2020 City of Belmont 5 year Capital Improvements Plan (CIP), only in the 6-10 year plan.
The location identified is in close proximity to the new Belmont recreation center off Catawba Street.
